Thanks to Stanley Oswald of Cleghorn, Iowa. He sent a wonderful group of photos. Great stuff and will present them all over the next few days.In a general farming operation, whether Dairy or feeding cattle. Cutting silage was always part of the deal.
Often when I have a quiet moment, I imagine I can recreate some of the wonderful fragrances of those days: freshly plowed ground, cutting hay, the mixed fragrances around threshing oats, cutting silage, grinding ear corn, the odor of corn dryers & air full of beeswings & of course stomping around inside the silo.
Those children unable to experience such moments have been short-changed, without a doubt.
Thanks again Stan.
